Managing Your NIE: Renewal, Status and Lost Number
- The NIE number never expires — so it is never “renewed”. Only documents (a TIE card) are renewed.

Does a NIE need renewing?

How do I check my NIE status?
There is no universal public tracker for a non-resident NIE. You confirm progress with whoever filed it — the Oficina de Extranjería, the consulate, or your representative. See how to check your NIE application status.
